What is whiplash: whiplash is a non-medical term used to describe a stretch (extension) injury to the muscle, nerves and other soft tissue of the neck and back. Whiplash can be caused by an auto accident, slip and falls, and when head and neck are struck by an object.
Signs and symptoms of whiplash: neck and back stiffness with pain, radiating pain from neck and shoulders, tingling and numbness in one or both hands, pounding headaches felt behind the eye, upper and lower back stiffness with pain in one or both shoulders, shooting pain in the back that moves down one leg and into the foot.
What causes lower back pain: while there are many possible causes, the most common are…traumatic spinal misalignment, degenerative joint and disc disease, stress, overexertion, poor posture and congenital disorders (scoliosis). Some of the more life threatening causes of lower back pain are cancers that originate or metastasize to the lumbar spine or referred pain to the lower back from deceased abdominal muscles.
